Unicorn Porridge

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

1/4 cup semolina 

Pinch salt

60g unsalted butter

Pink, green and purple food colouring

Dollar Sweets Brights, Fairy Sweetheart Toppings and Coles Mini Rainbow Mallows, to decorate

Milk, to serve

 

METHOD

 

Bring 1.25L of water to the boil. Reduce heat to very low, whisk in salt and semolina. Add oats and stir regularly until water has absorbed and oats are soft (about 30 mins).  

 

Remove from heat, stir through butter and divide into three equal portions. Colour each portion with a tiny bit of food colouring (start with a small amount as you want to try and achieve a pastel colour – adding too much will make the colour too vibrant), stirring through well.

 

Spoon porridge decoratively into bowls so that each bowl has pink, green and purple porridge. Decorate with Dollar Sweets Brights, Fairy Sweetheart Toppings and Coles Mini Rainbow Mallows and serve with extra milk.
